Environmental Policy

Reiver Recruitment is fully committed to the care of the environment with the adoption of environmentally responsible policies and practices throughout its operation. With the adoption of our new environmental management system we have recently been awarded ISO 14001 certification.

We will ensure that every aspect of our activities is conducted in accordance with sound environmental practices.

We will achieve this by:

  • Minimising the consumption of natural resources and energy, whilst consuming material goods in moderation
  • Reducing the creation of waste by the adoption of improved operating practices and by the recycling of materials whenever practical
  • Ensuring all waste is disposed of in a safe and responsible manner complying with all current environmental directives such as the WEEE (waste, electrical and electronic equipment) Directive
  • Investing in the development of new products and processes that have an improved performance regarding their impact on the environment
  • Complying with environmental legislation
  • Compare our environmental activities with those of others in our sectors to help us improve

Whilst the list above is not exhaustive and states an over view of our commitment to this policy we also recognise that there are specific areas of our activities that we can target as priorities.

Priority Areas 2009

  • Review current supplier list with regard to their environmental policy
  • Attain ISO14001 certification
  • Implement monitoring process for consumption of raw materials
  • Implement monitoring process for waste quantities (Paper, Card, Etc)
  • Reduce paper consumption by 25% through electronic processes

We recognise that the pursuit of economic growth and a healthy environment must be closely linked, and that ecological protection and sustainable development are collective responsibilities in which businesses, governments, individuals and communities all have a role to play. Therefore we will continue to maintain and improve our Environmental Management System to conform to the requirements of our customers, legislation, BS EN ISO14001and other regulations relating to our environmental aspects of business.
